It's that time of year... school's almost back in session, and summer's ending... we know it's sad and hard and tearing-up-worthy, but..... at least there's one thing that sorta makes up for it..... BACK TO SCHOOL SHOPPING!!!!!!
 Now, at first it may seem depressing, because you'll have to wear these clothes in class, but let me tell you: if you have a really cute outfit on and you're bored in class, the cuteness of your outfit helps aid your blank mind. Here's what I mean:



  Now, if you were wearing THIS exact outfit in class, you would be much more entertained because there is so much to look at! So, try to find cheap, cute clothes that you can style differently.

So, I thought it was about time that we did a nail post! Me and Alice LOVE painting our fingernails, and today I'll show you the 'ins' and 'outs' of painting your nails!

So, first, let's start with your color, that you'll use as a base!

Sally Hansen Insta-Dry, $4.00, Target.com

Sinful Colors, $3.00, Walgreens.com

Sinful Colors are great, as well as Sally Hansen Insta-Dry. They have a wide array of colors, and they aren't too expensive! After you finish your color coat, and it's dry, you need a base coat.

Sally Hansen Diamond Shine, $3.99, Target.com

After you've done a top coat, you can add patterns.

Milani Nail Art Lacquer, $3.59,Target.com

 You can do a ton of stuff with patterns, but here's some ideas:
Flowers!
Stripes!
Polka-Dots!
Palm Trees!
Paw Prints!
Stars! 
Hearts!

Once you're done, put another coat of Top Coat on your patterns once they're DRY!


Now you've got beautiful nails!

Verdict: IN! Although Alice and I swear by One Direction, I have so much Maroon 5 on my iPod, and they're so good! (We recommend the CLEAN VERSIONS, or course! :)

 Verdict: IN! They're so great. I just love them, and I stole Alice's copy of their album for like 3 months! :D

Verdict: Sorry, Gaga fans. Gaga is OUT! Has anyone listened to her music lately? It's bad. I used to love her, but now... she's gone to the dark side of music. :(

The verdict: IN! Gladiator sandals have been in since last summer, when the BLEW UP all over the fashionista world. So many styles, so many good prices! :)

The verdict: OUT! Lace skirts were IN everywhere last fall, but I was never into them, and they can totally come off as goth. 














Red dresses: In or Out?
The verdict: IN! So many gals on the red carpet are wearing them right now-- it's crazy! Red dresses are beautiful, lovely, etc.

Cupcake Baking!

Hey Fashionistas and Bakers!


Tomorrow is meh birthday, so I thought, why not bake some cupcakes, and if I have extra batter, make a cute heart shaped cake (which I did!)? So here are a few photos that I took... sadly I don't have time to explain the recipe, but it's basically a chocolate sheet cake cupcake with a strawberry buttercream-ish frosting, topped with powdered sugar/ chocolate shavings/ sprinkles! So enjoy the pictures, and I piiiiiiinky promise I'll tell ya how to make them when Rubs and I get back from camp!

Hair Battle #1 Results!

Bonjour Fashionistas!

The results are in for heated hair battle number 1, the results are tight! First off, we learned that most of our voters (57%) just don't like short hair. 

There is a clear winner, however, and the lovely lady who is the winner of the first hair battle is...

 Rihanna! She won the vote by just 14% (so one more vote then Emma Watson), and takes home the prize.

Quick and Easy Hairstyles! :)

Hey Fashionistas!


I have some quick and easy hairstyles for ya that are perfect for lounging at the pool, going shopping, or even baking cupcakes! :)


If you're currently rocking a bob, chances are your hair is getting in your face during summer sports (like tennis). Try taking your bangs, or your locks in front, and brush them up on to your head. Clip em down with two bobby pins in an x shape, and you're set! 


If you have long hair, I recommend a flip-tail! This fun & easy summer do is super simple, and like the criss-cross for if you have a bob, it helps get your hair out of the way, while looking cuh-ute! :) All you have to do is pull your hair into a low ponytail at the nape of your neck, and then make a little hole between your head and the ponytail holder. Next, flip the ponytail through the hole, and voila! Trés chic! 


If you have beautiful curly hair, try rocking a side braid! You get to look like Katniss Everdeen (a huge plus!), and it goes with any outfit!

Here's the updates for TTFB! :)

Hey, Fashionistas! I just wanted to give you guys an update on the TTFBT. I'll be away for the next two weeks (at camp!! :D), so Alice will be taking over as the only one in the TTFBT for a week, then she'll JOIN ME at camp, so for one week (July 15th- July 21st) there will be NO NEW POSTS :'(! But, then we'll come back and do a bunch of posts about camp and trends!! Also, I wanted to tell everyone that Alice's birthday is coming up, so DON'T FORGET TO WISH HER A HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

Shoe Edition!

Hey Fashionistas!!

Alice here with an amazing edition of TTFB! This post is going to be all about Ruby and I's favorite shoes! I've including everything from  Uggs to Toms, to just good old flats. To your right, vote about your favorites!

We'll start with my favorite flip-flops, ever. They are from Vera Bradley, and come in a bunch of different styles! A summer classic turned cute and new, I heart it! I (sadly) can't find my personal favorite design, and the pair I own, on the Vera Bradley website, but they do offer them on Zappos! Yay! :)

Next up are Toms! Toms are ah-mazing on every level. They are the perfect shoe, super cute and comfortable! As an added bonus, for every pair of Toms you buy, they'll give a pair to a child in need. I know Ruby loves her olive green pair, and while I don't have Toms (yet!) I am in love with the Siver Glitters! You can buy Toms practically anywhere, I even found them at my local grocery store! :)

Next up are Uggs! Omigosh, I am totally obsessed! Even though it's not winter yet, I thought I'd add them on. I love all the colors, my favorite being probably the caramel or chocolate ones. Not in the mood to give your wallet a major ouch? Look for fake Uggs (Fuggs!), just make sure they are still high quality. Fuggs from Costco are a little less pricey and are still sheepskin, they just don't say UGG Australia on the back. ;)

         if you're long and lean like Kristen Stewart, wear shorts and skirts that accent your beautiful legs! Heels, although feared by most tall people, also are make your legs look even longer and thinner!




            If you're curvy, like Amber Riley, wear dresses with a waistband right under your chest, it hides your stomach but still makes your curves look real! (Which they are, of course!) Also, pull your skirts up past your waist! And, heels make your legs look thinner and longer! 


   If you're petite, like Scarlett Johansson, show off how small you are! Wear tanks with that are a little  short, long (or short) dresses, and if you hate being a shortie, wear heels!



    If you're muscular, like Taylor Swift, don't be afraid to show you're arms and legs off! (Taylor Swift may not look super buff, but she has strong legs and arms, along with broad shoulders. She hides her shoulders with her pretty hair) wear shorts, tanks with skirts, and heels! (heels are VERY in right now, as you can see!)





Girls, no matter what you wear to make your body look different, you are still YOU at the end of the day. Love yourself for who you are, not who you WANT to be.

HELLO PEOPLE!

Hi guys, so sorry that I haven't been posting lately. I've been super busy with the last week of school and now it's finally OVER! Yessss!!! :) So, to start the summer off on a fashionista note, I recommend you grab your bestie(s) and head to the mall! (Going to try to do that myself today! :) ) Or, if you're totally broke, make an OUTDOOR SPA. What you need is a few lounge chairs, some icey lemonade, your cutest bikinis, and some high-quality time in the sun! (Don't forget your sunscreen!) Also, avoid sunglasses UNLESS you have your face completely white with sunscreen (you REALLY don't want one of those freakish tan-lines! :P Don't forget the fashion magazines and your highlighters! :) So, please comment on this post telling me what trends you <3 or type requests that you want me to talk about.... hope you have a great few days!

Swimsuit Edition!

           Hey everyone! So my first fashion post is on the newest blooming bikini trend, bandeaus, which are super in right now, I've already got mine. If you're not sure what a bandeau is, it's basically a tube top that only covers your chest. SO MANY stores are selling them right now, so go out and buy one if you're into bikinis. But if you're a more conservative girl, I suggest high-waisted boy short swimsuit bottoms, with a tankini top. I'll be posting a new survey soon, be sure to vote!
